Critical Commentary

The article presents the argument that African universities are reproducing Western hegemony and values. They emphasis the role of African knowledge systems and philosophies in global academia.

However, I recognise the complexity of unpacking what is an African knowledge systems and whether it falls into the trap of promoting a particular epistemic hegemony as well. I will also expand the discussion on decolonising agenda which often remains abstract and hence difficult to articulate , apply etc.
