Critical Commentary

A non-peer-reviewed article focused on the aerosol transmission of the COVID-19 virus. The article was shared in April 2020 on a friends' Whatsapp group which has several medical personnel in it. The article assesses a small sample group (35 aeresol samples) and concludes that "room ventilation, open space, proper use and disinfection of toilet can effectively limit aeresol transmision of SARS-CoV-2."

The article was shared by a doctor who is a member of the Whatsapp group. Members were continually expressing concern about the spread of the disease and for the health of colleagues in the group. A couple of them had gone into quarantine after exposure to the virus among work colleagues one of the group members is a nurse working in the US and had already treated multiple patients. The article was part of the continued sharing of technical or media information around COVID-19 within the group.
