TM: With the lockdown measures instituted by the Government of Kenya to contain COVID 19 spread country wide saw the reduced movement of people and goods in and out of the city. This alonsgide the ensuing lockdown measures on people being more at home may have been the vital key component that may have nudged the society to rethink food sources. The taking up of urban farming among Nairobi residents may see an upsurge in the practise city wide. This is especially true for those whose employment status is unknown who have no other choice really. This article examines what may be an alternate use of space in our environment with pressure even mounting to Nairobi's peri-urban areas of Kiambu, Kajiado and Machakos Counties to meet this demand.
